The Job Board

This is what you get access to

Homeowners who measured a job on this site and asked to hear from a contractor. The trade, the measurement, our estimate, the town and the distance — all up front. Pick one up and you get their name, address, email and notes, and you quote them directly.

The Job Board: cards showing a mulch job in Hamburg NY at 1,240 square feet,
lawn mowing in Orchard Park at 1.8 acres, driveway sealer in West Seneca, and a
deck build in East Aurora, each with an estimate range, distance in miles, how
many pickup slots are left and how many days before it expires.
An example board. The requests shown are made up — real ones carry a real homeowner's job.
On the job

How pros use it

21 seconds, no sound — one real job measured and priced.

Before the site visit

Type the address, trace the beds or the drive, and know the yardage before you have burned the gas. Most jobs you can quote from the truck.

Checking a sub's number

Trace what they measured, run it at your rates, and see whether their price makes sense before you pass it on.

The haul math

Weight, loads by rig and trips — wheelbarrow, mini skid, skid steer, loader — so you know what to send.

Banking pieces

Front and back beds, three separate parking areas, a fence with a gate gap — all measured as one job.

Reporting a price

Tick a box and your figure joins the regional dataset, with no name on it. Nothing publishes until three pros report the same job.

Questions

The details, if you want them

How do customer requests work?

A homeowner measures a job on this site, decides they want it done, and asks to hear from a contractor. On the Job Board you see the trade, the measurement and the area. Pick one up and you get their name, address and phone, and you quote them directly.

We take no cut, we never see your price, and we are not a party to anything you agree with them. Winning the job is between you and the homeowner — picking a request up gets you the conversation, not the work.

How many contractors see the same request?

Four at most. After the fourth pickup the request comes off the board. That is competition without turning one homeowner into four days of cold calls — and it means picking up promptly is worth something.

Requests also expire after 30 days whether or not anyone took them.

Can I limit it to work I would actually drive to?

Yes. Set your service address and a radius in miles, and the board only shows requests inside it. You can widen it any time — in a quiet month you might want to.

What does the subscription actually pay for?

Four things, and we are deliberate about keeping the list that short:

  • The board keeps working once your area gets busy. Until then it is free.
  • You are Featured. Listed businesses show under every result for the addresses they cover; Pro members come first, labeled Featured.
  • You hear first. New requests near you are emailed to Pro members the moment they come in, and to everyone else about 2 hours later.
  • Your saved quotes and addresses stop being capped — and once you have paid, that cap never comes back, whatever happens later.

Measuring, every calculator, the Pro view with your own rates, and the regional price data are free and stay free.

When would I actually start being charged?

When there is steady work near you. Steady means 10 customer requests a month inside your own service radius, two months running — not a date, not a signup count, and not measured across the whole country.

When your area crosses that line you get 60 days' notice before any first bill, by email and on the board itself. Nothing auto-charges, and there is no card on file until you put one there.

How do I earn the founding rate?

By being active, not by being early. Pick up at least one customer request while the Job Board is still free and half price is yours, stamped to your account that day. It does not step up later — it is half of standard for as long as you keep the subscription, not an introductory month.

A card on its own does not earn it. Subscribe before you have taken a job and you are billed at the standard rate.

What happens if I stop paying?

One thing. You stop seeing new customer requests. That is the entire list:

  • Measuring stays free. Forever, for everyone.
  • Saved quotes and addresses stay — and stay unlimited.
  • Your rate card and the Pro view are untouched.
  • The regional price data is public, to homeowners and contractors alike.
  • Every request you already picked up stays in your list, under Jobs I took, with the contact details you were given.

Founding status stays on your record too. Come back in a year and it is still half price.

Can I cancel, and is there a monthly plan?

Cancel any time, from your account. You keep the board to the end of the term you have paid for, and it does not renew.

There is no monthly plan. Ninety days is the shortest term we sell, and it matches how a season actually runs.

Pro is sold to US businesses for now. Businesses in Canada, the UK, Europe and Australia can list free and pick up requests the same way.

Are my rates and my customers private?

Your labor, production, material, disposal, equipment and overhead figures stay in your browser on that device. Nothing is uploaded unless you tick the box to report a price, and then only the figure goes — never your name, your company or the address.

Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We have never stored a card number.

Your rates, your quote

What the Pro view changes

The homeowner view prices off national averages — the right answer for someone deciding whether to call anyone, the wrong answer for the person doing the work. In the Pro view the same trace rebuilds around seven numbers you enter once per job type:

Labor rate

What a crew-hour bills at — not what you pay, what you charge. The billable-rate guide walks the arithmetic from wage to billed.

Production rate

Crew-hours per unit for your crew, on your equipment. The default is a national figure; yours is better.

Material, delivered

Your supplier's price per unit with delivery in. The retail figure is a placeholder for people who are not you.

Disposal, equipment, other

Dump fees, a rented machine, a permit — flat per job or per unit, whichever fits.

Overhead & profit

Your margin as one percentage on the subtotal. Ten percent is a hobby; the estimate guide explains why.

Peek at the homeowner number

One tap shows what the customer sees on their side — useful to know before they quote it back at you.

Everything you enter stays in your browser on that device. Nothing is uploaded unless you tick the box to report a price, and then only the figure goes — never your name, your company or the address.
